Photography Equipment & Reviews
Where would photographers be without our gear? All this cool stuff is the key to showing our vision to the rest of the world.
Cameras
I briefly used a Canon Digital Rebel XTi before moving up to the EOS 5D, which has been taking a beating and churning out photos for quite a few years. Aside from the occasional point & shoot or camera phone, the 5D is my go-to tool.
Lens Reviews
I’ve reviewed a few lenses, all of which I have personally bought and used. I prefer not to get too technical when talking about glass, and would rather just talk about their strengths and weaknesses in terms of real world photography.
Zooms
Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EG DG HSM The absolute widest non-fisheye lens you can get your hands on for a full frame camera.
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM A pro-grade all-around lens with image stabilization and a wide range of focal lengths.
Canon EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 III Not a performer in the image quality or durability departments, but a very cheap 300mm zoom.
Primes
Canon EF 24mm f/1.4 L USM wide angle, great in low light, this is one of my favorites.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II nice, sharp image quality and excellent low light capabilities in a small, affordable package.
Canon EF 100mm f/2 USM an affordable fast telephoto prime that’s easy to carry and takes really nice images.
Canon EF 135mm f/2 L USM a fast pro-grade telephoto that’s so sharp it’s dangerous.
Do I get paid for this?
Plain and simple, my opinion is never for sale. Read the disclosure policy if you want to learn more.
